With over fifteen years experience as Induction Mentor for Newly Qualified Teachers, as well as acting as External Verifier and Mentor for GwE and The Education Workforce Council in schools across North East Wales, we can offer tailored mentoring support, based on our coaching ethos, to teachers new to the profession, or more experienced colleagues who may benefit from a discrete and supportive intervention.
Our approach is based on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Professional Standards for Teaching and Leadership in Wales and thirty years experience as a teaching practitioner and school leader. Performance targets and progress measures can be measured against the Professional Standards indicators with the most important aspect being the engagement of the colleague in a collaborative process of target setting and review. Our aim is to work on a coaching by raising self-belief and identifying motivators for the mentee, but also to use mentoring strategies to offer possible strategies and solutions as required on a short-term basis.
